Abstract. The use of kinematic schemes of sieve grain-cleaners, where the oscillation phases of two sieve mills are shifted from each other by a quarter of the period, leads to the fact that sieve mills exchange energy with each other, and not with the drive. At that, while excluding friction losses, the circuit is an oscillatory system, in which free undamped oscillations can occur without energy supply from outside. The purpose of the study included the calculated rationale for the use of kinematic schemes of sieve grain-cleaners with an offset of eccentrics relative to one another at an angle pi/2. The research was carried out by the methods of mathematical modeling and analysis. For operating mode, the frequency of which is in the range of the frequencies corresponding to the two limiting conditions, it can be roughly assumed that a part of the heap remains stationary relative to the sieve mill and contributes to the inertial load, and another part is mobile and provides the main dissipative load. Given the inertia and the mobility of the grain heap, it was calculated the inertial and dissipative power, developed by the drive; and the inertial power is more than 8 times greater than the dissipative one. The use of the kinematic scheme of sieve machine with an offset of eccentrics relative to one another at an angle pi/2 eliminates the consumption of electric power from the network equal to the inertial power, which is more than 1.3 kW for the given quantitative data, and it enables to reduce the unevenness of dissipative power almost 5 times.
