Abstract. Under conditions of market competition, agricultural commodity producers should develop a long-term strategy to control soil fertility in order to obtain the maximal profit. Monitoring of soil fertility allows to answer most questions on the selection of crop cultivation technologies, revealing the soil property, limiting crop yield. It also allows to determine the limit to which this property should be improved and to select the most effective means for this improvement. The soils in the coverage area of the state center of agrochemical service “Krasnoyarsky” are characterized by the average humus content, the average content of mobile phosphorus and high concentration of exchange potassium, close to the neutral and neutral reaction of the soil solution, low content of sulfur, copper, zinc, partially manganese. During agricultural use, the content of humus decreased from 7.5 to 7.1 % from 1981 to 2015. The most of agricultural commodity producers work against the background of natural soil fertility, i. e. almost without mineral and organic fertilizers, which causes the deficit of nutrients in the soil. The calculation of the nutrient balance reveals that their intake in the soil does not often exceed 80 % of carrying-out, which leads to the decrease in soil fertility. It is necessary to solve the problem of nutrient deficit with the help of available resources: embedding of straw, green manure, etc., as well as effective use of mineral fertilizers. The use of straw as organic fertilizer increase the content of humus and mobile potassium in the soil, stabilize the content of phosphorus. The joint application of ground phosphate rock and ammonium sulfate in chernozem with the reaction of soil medium close to neutral can be an alternative for ammophos application.
