Abstract. The purpose of the work was to identify the hereditary heterogeneity of winter wheat ‘Sintetik’, to evaluate its individual genotypes by quantitative characteristics to improve the variety in the process of primary seed production. It was established that Sintetik variety represents a homozygous population for Gld 1D2 and Gld 1D5 genes, which controls the synthesis of gliadines, as well as for beta-amylase isoenzymes. Genetic analysis of this population confirms the monogenic nature of the inheritance of beta-amylases and gliadines. Based on the study of individual families from this variety during 2014-2016 under conditions of Belgorod region, it was established that the genotypes having Gld 1D5 allele had higher quality parameters of flour (mixing index, gluten strain indicator) compared to the carriers of Gld 1D2 allele. These differences did not affect productivity. The beta-amylase isozyme designated as A compared to B also showed a tendency to improve a flour quality index (mixing index), but contributed to a deterioration in yields by 150 kg/ha (LSD(0.95) = 1.1). To improve the baking qualities of Sintetik variety without deterioration of its yield, it should be released from the genotypes having Gld 1D2 allele. The selection on the grain quality by isozymes of beta-amylase is not appropriate. To improve productive characteristics of the variety it is possible to use improving selection for the carriers of isoenzyme B of beta-amylase.

Keywords: winter wheat, Sintetik variety, gliadines, beta-amylase, grain quality, productivity.
