Abstract. A physiotherapeutic method for treating mastitis in cows is proposed, which consists in irradiating animals with an electric field of high tension with a wide spectrum. The investigation for determination of the possibility of usage of broadband radiation with high tension of electric field for treatment and prevention of mastitis in cows was carried out in 2016 in the Republic of Tatarstan at the premises of “Tatmelioratsiya-Agro” farm. For the experiment, we selected 16 cows in which a number of somatic cells per 1 cm3 of milk were 1.5 x 10E6 or more. According to the test probes, eight of them had a clinical form of mastitis, other cows had a subclinical form. Somatic cell analysis was carried out in the Republic Veterinary Laboratory of the Republic of Tatarstan directly before and after the experiment. The treatment consisted of 10 procedures, one procedure was 20 minutes. All treatment was 27 days. The radiation power was 150 W, the feeding frequency of the antenna varied from 270 to 370 kHz, the voltage on the antenna was about 150 kV. According to the results of the research, 11 cows from 16 were completely healthy, and 4 animals were sick. In one cow no mastitis was detected in the test samples, however, a number of somatic cells in milk exceeded the established norm. It is not possible to determine the exact reason for the absence of significant changes in 4 cows due to lack of information on a variety of critical parameters and adequate theoretical framework that allows to describe the effect of electric high frequency fields of high tension on biological cells of animals, as well as on mastitis pathogens cells.
