Abstract. The investigations were carried out in 2009–2015 in the territory of the city of Norilsk in order to reveal species diversity and distribution of wood, tree and shrubbery and shrubby species of plants in an urban and natural flora of Norilsk and its vicinity, as well as the possibility of their use in green construction under conditions of the Far North. The method of the study was route, combined with a detailed floristic study of stationary plots, founded on the all main types of plant habitats (natural and anthropogenic). The composition of wood, tree and shrubbery and shrubby fraction of the flora of the city consists of 26 species from 6 families (Pinaceae, Cupressaceae, Salicaceae, Betulaceae, Grossulariaceae, Rosaceae) and 9 genera (Picea, Larix, Juniperus, Salix, Betula, Alnus, Sorbus, Ribes, Rosa). According to the type of life form, there are 3 species of trees, 9 species of wood and shrubby plants, and 14 species of bushes. The natural flora of vicinities of Norilsk consists of 19 wood, tree and shrubbery and shrubby species from 5 families (Pinaceae, Cupressaceae, Salicaceae, Betulaceae, Rosaceae) and 8 genera (Picea, Larix, Juniperus, Salix, Betula, Alnus, Sorbus, Rosa). According to the type of life form, there are 3 species of trees, 6 species of wood and shrubby plants, and 10 species of bushes. Wood, tree and shrubbery and shrubby flora of the city is richer than natural flora of its vicinities by 37%. The flora of the city does not contain only one species from the natural one – Salix reptans, but new species appear: Salix alaxensis, S. bebbiana, S. fuscescens, S. boganidensis, S. phylicifolia, S. rhamnifolia. Species of wood, tree and shrubbery and shrubby components of the urban flora with high (25 and more times) occurrence: Salix phylicifolia (42), S. viminalis (41), S. glauca s. str (36), S. jenissensis (31) and S. dasyclados (30), S. lanata s. str. (29), S. hastate (26), Alnus fruticosa (26). Varieties Salix viminalis, S. glauca s. str., S. jenissensis, S. dasyclados, S. lanata s. str., S. hastata, Alnus fruticosa, Rosa acicularis are perspective for the use in the landscaping of the city of Nor.
