CRYSTALLINE GLUCOSE PRODUCT WITH SODIUM CHLORIDE: PRODUCTION, APPLICATION

Abstract. Crystalline glucose is an important food product and a strategic drug. Due to the lack of domestic production of crystalline glucose, the provision of the Russian Federation health care with it and partially with its solutions is carried out by importing. It is important to develop new technologies for the production of rapidly crystallizing forms of glucose for the medicine. These products include a glucose product with sodium chloride – a double compound of glucose with sodium chloride. The product is white crystal powder of salty taste having the formula (С6Н12О6)2*NaCl*H2O) containing 14–16% sodium chloride. Its chemical composition identical to the composition of the drug “Dextrose 5% + sodium chloride 0.9%”. It is unique in the world and is a promising target for exports. The most difficult and important stage of its production is crystallization, as a result of which crystals of a double compound form, and the crystal lattice of which includes molecules of glucose and sodium chloride. The flowsheet of the preparation production includes several stages: preparation of glucose solution; dissolving of powdered sodium chloride in it; filtration; solution evaporation; crystallization of double composition from the solution; centrifugation with separation of crystals from the matrix solution; crystals drying, screening and packing. The crystallization is carried out from solution with the concentration of dry matter of 62–65%, containing glucose and 17–18% sodium chloride, at reducing the solution temperature from 65 to 25–30 Celsius degrees during 5–7 hours. Crystals are isolated by centrifugation and drying at 60–80 Celsius degrees to 4–5% humidity. The product is intended for the use in medicine, food and chemical industry, veterinary medicine, in sports nutrition.
