Abstract. We analyzed the state of agrochemical indicators of soil fertility of agricultural lands of a zone of service of the Station of Agrochemical Service “Alejskaya” in Altai Krai. On 1/1/2017 the arable land area was 1,925,700 hectares. More than 80% of soils of the arable land have very low and low content of humus. High provision with potassium is characteristic for 82% of soils of the service area, middle and increased provision with phosphorus – for 90%; more than 71% of soils have a neutral reaction of the soil solution. The soils are poor in trace elements, except for boron, the content of which is high throughout the plowland. After 1990 there was a sharp decrease in the volume of application of mineral fertilizers from 26.3 kg a.s. on 1 hectare of arable land in 1986–1990 to 2.2 kg a.s. per hectare in 1991–1995. The use of organic fertilizers decreased from 1.5 t/ha in 1986–1990 to 0.09 t/ha in 1996–2000. The balance of nutrition elements in the agriculture of the service area during the entire period of observations is sharply negative.
