Abstract. Pedigree reindeer are infested by Paramphistomum cervi trematode. Dehelmintization of animals remains one of the main methods of controlling helminthiasis. We studied the therapeutic efficacy of Alvet suspension 10%, Closatrem and Levamisol 75 (ZAO “NITA-FARM”, Saratov) in 2008–2013 in the territory of Evenkijsky municipal district of Krasnoyarsk krai (taiga zone) in reindeer farm “Suridinsky”. We used the conventional helminthological method of successive drains (sedimentation according to N.V. Demidov) and the Fullbourne method for determining the intensity of infestation as a relative indicator (the number of eggs of paramphistoms in 1 g of faeces). The result of coprological studies showed that pedigree reindeer are infested by Paramphistomum cervi trematode. We studied the therapeutic efficacy of the anthelminthic drugs in four groups of infested animals. In the first (control) group (n = 242) the drugs were not used. In the second group (n = 166) reindeer received Alvet suspension 10% by the group method once with forage at the dose of 1.5 ml/10 kg of live weight. Animals from the third group (n = 100) were administered by Alvet suspension 10% p.o. individually at the dose of 1 ml/10 kg of live weight. In the fourth group (n = 20) we used Closatrem i.m. at the dose of 4.0 ml and Levamisol 75 i.m. at the dose of 2.0 ml. The animals from the control group before the beginning of the experiment and afterward continued to excrete the eggs of paramphistoms. The effectiveness of treatment, calculated as a decrease in the proportion of infected animals from the total number of animals, in the third group was 76.0% (76 head), which is higher by 12.8% than at the group administration of the preparation in the second group, where the efficiency was 63.2% (n = 105). The best result was in the fourth group; the efficiency was 90% (n = 18).
