SPECTRA OF PROLAMINES IN AGROECOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF THE COLLECTION BARLEY

Abstract. The purpose of the study was to determine polymorphism of hordeins of spring barley varieties, admitted for use in Krasnoyarsk Krai, and of samples from the VIR collection, selected according to the set of economic characteristics under agro-ecological conditions of the region. The field assessment of the VIR samples was carried out in the forest-steppe zone of Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2014–2017. The soil of the plot was ordinary low thick chernozem: the humus content (according to Tyurin) was 6.00%, N-NO3 – 31.3 mg/kg, P2O5 (according to Machigin) – 5.0 mg/100 g, K2O (according to Machigin) – 21.9 mg/100 g, pH was 6.2. The forecrop was bare fallow. Electrophoresis of hordeins (Hrd) was performed in 13% starch gel in the presence of 3M urea. The spectra of hordeins were identified and recorded in the form of genetic formulas (HRD A.B.F.). Under conditions of Krasnoyarsk Krai, a rather high level of intervarietal polymorphism of barley storage proteins was noted in ten varieties admitted for use in the region. Eight variants of hordein formulas correspond to them; the diversity at the HrdA locus was 4 variants, at the HrdB locus – 6 variants. There was a narrowing towards variant 12.1.3, which belongs to the varieties of both Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk breeding. In ten collection genotypes with a set of valuable selection characteristics, the variety of formulas was insignificant: 12.13.2, 2.13.2. and 2.8.2. The division into ripening groups, the mass of the grain from one plant and high economic efficiency is determined by the variants of hordeins, which indicates the informative value of the analysis of prolamine spectra in the agroecological evaluation of the collection material of barley. The diversity of formulas of hordeins reflects the necessity of cultivating barley varieties corresponding to the contrasting natural and climatic zones of the vast territory of Krasnoyarsk Krai.
