Abstract. Wild species and subspecies of Daucus L. were examined for the breeding on the valuable traits, including complex resistance to phytopathogenic fungi Alternaria radicinia, Alternaria dauci and Fusarium spp. under conditions of Moscow region in 2008–2017. Species and subspecies of wild carrot were detected as a result of laboratory express methods and selections against artificial infectious backgrounds under laboratory conditions, which could be used as genetic sources of resistance to the agents of Fusarium and Alternaria blight. Resistant samples amounted 45% of all tested samples: Daucus carota L. – genotypes 16, 18, 19, 21, 26, 27; Daucus halophilus Brot. – genotype 13; Daucus setifolius Desf. – genotype 20; Daucus muricatus (L.) L. – genotype 22; Daucus setifolius Desf. – genotype 23; Daucus broteri Ten. – genotype 17; Daucus carota subsp. maximus (Desf.) Ball. – genotypes 10, 17. The authors selected four combinations of interspecific crosses with a high resistance to Alternaria spp. and Fusarium spp.: line 690 P of garden carrot x the wild species and subspecies of genus Daucus No 22; line 1238 P of garden carrot x the wild species and subspecies of genus Daucus No 16; line 200 P of garden carrot x the wild species and subspecies of genus Daucus No 13; line 1238 P of garden carrot x the wild species and subspecies of genus Daucus No 18. This makes it possible to obtain stable hybrids of garden carrot. Cultivated species and subspecies of wild carrot, as well as the obtained hybrid combinations, form the basis of the genetic collection of carrot in the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable-Growing, numbering about 30 samples.

Keywords: Daucus L.; Fusarium sp.; Alternaria sp.; field resistance; interspecific crosses; breeding collection.
