Abstract. According to the data of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, in 2017 the total area of agricultural ecosystems in our country was 383,600 hectares. The area constantly reduces due to the withdrawal from agricultural turnover and urbanization processes. The objectives of the study are to assess the degree of the anthropogenic load exerted by thermal energy facilities on ecosystems, as well as to assess the variability of the cost of agricultural ecosystems located in different regions of the country near the energy facilities. The research was carried out by the method of statistical analysis of the performance indicators of energy facilities and of production activity of thermal power facilities: the utilization factor of the installed capacity, the specific consumption of conventional fuel for the generation of electricity and heat, the installed capacity for the area of ecosystems used, the generation of electricity for the area of ecosystems used, the area of ecosystems used to produce 1 kWh of electricity. The energy load indices (e) for 15 state district power stations (GRES) were calculated on the basis of the modified formula for calculating the Lopatnikov’s index of the economic development of the territory. Their highest value is typical for large state district power stations with a large installed capacity (Kostromskaya, Zainskaya, Novocherkasskaya), which also have the largest production indicators. The cost of the agricultural ecosystems under evaluation varies greatly. The difference in the cadastral values between 15 investigated objects reaches 380 times (Berezovskaya GRES – 3.8 RUB/m2, Zainskaya GRES – 1,457.22 RUB/m2), the coefficient of variation (v) is 1.180. At the same time, the coefficient of variation in the cost of 1 m2 of agricultural land around these plants is 2.585, which indicates a lack of a unified approach to assessing the natural resource potential and the value of ecosystems seized for the operation of GRESes in the subjects of the Russian Federation.
