Abstract. Typical, leached and ordinary chernozems predominate in the soil cover of arable lands of the Belgorod region. The proportion of eroded arable soil is 47.9%. The region has successfully implemented a program of agriculture biologization, which includes liming acidic soils, implementation of comprehensive measures to protect the soil from water erosion, effective use of organic fertilizers and biological means of plant protection, accumulation of biological nitrogen, development of soil-saving technologies. As a result of this work, the area of acidic soils has significantly decreased, the availability of soils with mobile forms of phosphorus and potassium has increased, and crop yields have increased.
