Abstract. The paper presents the results of the work on the improvement and renovation of berry and non-traditional horticulture crops for industrial cultivation. The investigations were carried out in I.V. Michurin Federal Scientific Center in 2014–2018. Thirty five new varieties were used as the objects for the investigations: chokeberry ‘Mulatka’, hawthorn ‘Podarok Kuminova’, honeysuckle ‘Baryshnya’, ‘Vechny Zov’, ‘Goluboy Desert’, ‘Pamyaty Kuminova’, ‘Petr Pervy’, ‘Severnoe Sianie’, ‘Troye Druzey’, viburnum ‘Iskushenie’, gooseberry ‘Aristokrat’, ‘Galateya’, ‘Zvezdochet’, ‘Konstantsia’, ‘Orphey’, ‘Romantika’, ‘Sfinks’, raspberry ‘Kleopatra’, ‘Sulamif’, ‘Shahrazada’, golden currant ‘Avgustovskaya Noch’, ‘Znoyny Mirazh’, ‘Michurinskiy Suvenir’, black currant ‘Amirani’, ‘Demetra’, ‘Malenky Prints’, ‘Pandora’, ‘Tamerlan’, ‘Chernavka’, ‘Shalunya’, wild rose ‘Geysha’, ‘Yezhik’, ‘Michurinsky Yubileyny’. Investigated varieties are characterized by high adaptive potential: winter-hardiness, drought-resistance, resistance to the most harmful diseases and pests. The use of new varieties makes it possible to improve marketable qualities of fruits by increasing the average weight of the fruit compared to the standard varieties in black currant – up to 57%, in honeysuckle – up to 89%, in gooseberry – up to 63%, in raspberry – up to 79%, in golden currant – up to 29%, in wild rose – up to 129% and viburnum – up to 33%. Higher productivity of the new varieties makes it possible to increase the yielding capacity of industrial plantations up to 79% in black currant, up to 160% in honeysuckle, up to 100% in gooseberry, up to 32% in raspberry, up to 98% in golden currant, up to 20% in wild rose, and up to 33% in viburnum. Combination of the high level of economically important characters makes it promising to use them in further breeding. Varieties of hawthorn, shadberry and chokeberry were admitted to the use in the production on the territory of the Russian Federation for the first time.
