Abstract. The purpose of the research was to test the high-yield oats varieties and lines, adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the Middle Urals. The field experiments were conducted in 2012–2018 in a breeding crop rotation on dark grey soil, which varied from light loamy to heavy loamy in granulometric composition with the following agrochemical indicators: pH(KCl) – 5.7–7.0, humus content (according to Tyurin) – 6.8–8.2%. In 2012 and 2016 the value of the hydrothermal coefficient was 0.51 and 0.70 respectively. In 2014, 2015 and 2017 it was 2.22, 2.72, and 2.60 respectively; in 2018 it was 1.54. The material for the study was 60–80 samples of oats varieties and lines. The resistance to stressful conditions was assessed according to Goncharenko’s method. The parameters of the general and specific adaptive ability (GAA and SAA respectively), genotype breeding value (GBVi) and stability were assessed by Kilchevsky’s and Khotyleva’ methods; ecological plasticity (bi) were assessed by Eberhart’s and Russell’s method. The productivity of K1406, K1607, K1807, and K2308 lines was higher than that of Sprint 2 standard (4.60 t/ha) by 0.40–0.62 t/ha. For the standard line the mass of 1000 grains was lower (43.6 g) than for K1406 line and Stayer variety. The filminess of the studied genotypes was lower than of the standard one (28.0%) by 1.3–4.0%. K1406 line and Sprint 2 variety showed relatively high resistance to adverse environmental factors. According to the difference between the minimum and maximum yield (Y2 –Y1), their resistance to stress was 2.78 and 2.70 t/ha, respectively. On average over the years of the research, promising high-yield lines K1807 and K2308 were selected. They were characterized by high plasticity (bi = 0.95 and bi = 0.96, respectively), adaptability to local environmental conditions (GAA = 0.16 and GAA = 0.24), as well as high breeding value of genotypes (GBVi = 2.83 and GBVi = 2.77).
