Evaluation of the Yield Properties of Spring Wheat by the Parameters of Sprouts’ Organs under the Conditions of the Krasnoyarsk Forest-Steppe

Abstract. The research was carried out in 2015–2017 with the purpose of studying the effect of sowing terms and fertilizers on the yield, sowing qualities and development of sprouts of common wheat under the conditions of the forest-steppe of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The forecrop was bare fallow. The tillage was standard for the zone. The soil was leached, low-thick, slightly humic, heavy loamy chernozem. The design of the experiment included the study of the following options: sowing term (factor A) – early (May 18), late (May 28); fertilizer (factor B) – without fertilizers, N30P30K60 (the dose, calculated for the yield of 3.0 t/ha); variety (factor C) – early-ripening Novosibirskaya 29, mid-ripening Svirel’. The experiment was repeated 3 times; the plots were allocated randomly; accounting area amounted to 10 m2. The yield of wheat when it was sown in the early period was 2.32 t/ha; when it was sown in the late period the yield was 2.00 t/ha with a higher average productivity of the mid-ripening variety Svirel’ (2.28 t/ha) as compared to the mid-ripening variety Novosibirskaya 29 (2.05 t/ha). The variety Svirel’ reacted more pronouncedly to the mineral fertilizers application (the grain yield increase was 0.15–0.28 t/ha, or 6.2–14.5% relative to the unfertilized background). Novosibirskaya 29 variety reacted less pronouncedly to the improvement of mineral nutrition conditions (the increase was 0.12–0.16 t/ha, or 6.4–7.7%). Fertilization in both sowing terms reduced the weight of 1000 seeds by 0.1–3.3 g, germination – by 1–5%, increased the sprouts height by 0.4–2.5 cm, the length of coleoptiles – by 0.4–0.7 cm, the length of the main root – by 1–3 cm, the number of embryonic roots – by 1 root in relation to the unfertilized background.
