Abstract. The development of slope processes is observed almost everywhere. They play a dominant role in the formation of environment relief. The scientific interest in this issue is caused by the need of people to know the genesis and history of the Earth’s relief; the practical interest is caused by the need of people to prevent soil erosion and to carry on investigations before construction or search for minerals and others. The purpose of the work was to study slope processes, to evaluate (analyze) them using remote sensing data and to develop environmental measures to prevent their negative consequences. A slope of Pechishchinsky Geological Section in the Republic of Tatarstan on the right valley side of Volga was selected as the object of the study. The study method was a comprehensive comparative analysis of the aerial and space images with their reference, digitization of slope edge and counting of the quantitative characteristics of its changes. The images were made in the period from 1942 to 2017. In general, they were characterized by the formation of ravine network and karst processes. The area of withdrawn lands, average transformation rates, and specific lands losses caused by destruction were defined as the quantitative characteristics of the slope edge recessions. The slow scree processes on the investigated area did not pose any threats to the environment or human life and activities as evidenced by the low speed of slope edge displacement, which in 1942–2002 did not exceed 0.56 m/year, whereas in the last few years it did not exceed 0.24 m/year.
