Abstract. The purpose of the research was to study the effect of polymorphism of GH and TG5 genes on changes in the productive qualities of cows, the content of fat and protein in milk following the results of a two-month balanced feeding. The work was performed on pedigree lactating animals of Kholmogorskaya breed of the Tatarstan type in 2017. The average milk productivity of the experimental cows was 10,553 kg per standard lactation; their average age was 5 years; the average milking period was 178 days. We formed a small herd from 81 experimental animals and conducted scientific and economic experiments using the methods developed by A.I. Ovsyannikov. The productivity of the animals in the beginning and at the end of the experiment differed significantly. For the cows with the LLLV, and VV genotypes of GH gene, it amounted to 15.0%, 11.6%, and 8.8%, respectively; for the cows with TC and CC genotypes of TG5 gene, it amounted to 15.4% and 15.2%. Significant differences in the mass fraction of fat in milk were found in cows with LV and LL genotypes of GH gene (0.42%) and CC and TC genotypes of TG5 gene (0.29%). In the experiment, the maximum increase in the content of the mass fraction of protein in milk, relative to the beginning of the experiment, was registered in the animals with LL genotype of GH gene. It amounted to 0.06%. In cows with CC and TC genotypes of TG5 gene, it increased by 0.04%. The milk of cows with heterozygous LV genotype of GH gene was the most energetically valuable. Its energy value was 2.88 MJ/kg.
