Abstract. The purpose of the study was to identify the most effective technological method of using a liquid humic preparation during the cultivation of spring wheat Irgina. BoHum humic preparation is obtained by alkaline extraction; it contains 10 g/L of humic acids, a set of macro- and microelements; its pH is 9.0. Under laboratory conditions, the BoHum solution with a humic acid content of 0.01% and 0.02% provided the best results in soaking wheat seeds. It significantly improved the biometric parameters of seedlings. It was used in further studies. Field experiments were conducted in the Tver region in 2017–2019 in sod-podzolic light loamy soil. Before sowing wheat, nitroammophos was scattered at the rate of 200 kg/ha (N32P32K32). The two-factor field experiment provided for the study of the following options: seed treatment (factor A) – without treatment, treatment with working solutions of BoHum (20 L/t) containing 0.01% and 0.02% of humic acids; foliar treatment (factor B) – without treatment, double treatment with the BoHum working solution (300 L/ha) containing 0.003% of humic acids in the tillering and earing phases. The use of a humic preparation provided a significant increase in the yield – 6.2–14.8% in comparison with the control. It was caused by an increase in the number of productive stems (by 3.8–9.4%) and the number of grains per ear (on average by 5.5%). The most effective technological method in the experiment was the pre-sowing treatment of seeds with the BoHum solution containing 0.01% of humic acids – the yield increase was 0.42 t/ha, or 12.9%. Spraying the plants led to an increase in the protein content in the grain from 15.1% to 16.2%, but had little effect on the yield, which increased, relative to the seed treatment option, by a statistically insignificant value.

Keywords: humic preparation BoHum; spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.); seed treatment; foliar treatment; yield; soil; mobile phosphorus; mobile potassium.
