The logic of the functioning of information processes in the agricultural intelligent system

Abstract. The purpose of the study was to approve an approach to understanding the logic of the functioning of information processes in an agricultural intelligent system – an expert system with a decision support function. The agricultural intelligent system is characterized by a complex system-dynamic structure. Our approach allows building the structure of the data warehouse for the software implementation of a variety of information flow paths. They arise when the system responds to requests related to forecasts or recommendations at key points of agricultural processes. High performance is ensured by accurate and correct actions. We developed seven such paths; this work considers one of them in detail. For the data warehouse, we developed a structure of 22 components of three types: cards (4 units), lists (4 units), and registers (14 units). Among these components, both databases and knowledge bases are, containing structured information about the data warehouse itself, refined and supplemented in the process of the agricultural intelligent system functioning. The system gradually becomes more “experienced”; the quantity of information that can be considered as knowledge is increasing. The structure of the data warehouse is proposed to be represented in a spatial-graphic form reflecting 40 connections between its components and consistent with the structure of the agrarian intelligent system through seven connections with four of its sixteen components. Such a combined representation allows immediately implementing the structure of the data warehouse on an electronic computer and filling its components with structured information that informally reflects real agricultural objects, the procedure for changing their properties, and characteristics in the processes of functioning and management. A correctly structured and filled data warehouse is a prerequisite for the software implementation of the decision support function in an agricultural intelligent system.
