Abstract. The purpose of the study was to compare different geographic information systems (GISs) used in agriculture. For analysis, we selected the following GISes: ExactFarming, Agrosignal, Geoanalitika.Agro, ArcGIS, Panorama (GIS WebServer AGRO, Panorama AGRO, and Workstation of an Agronomist software package), and Agroecologist Online. We compared parameters such as convenience and clarity of the working interface, capabilities, distinctive features, range of users, and need for installation on personal computers. All GISes are aimed at improving the quality of work performed and reducing the cost of working time. The interface of the systems is usually user-friendly and intuitive. The GISes are based on the modular construction principle. ArcGIS and GIS Panorama combine many different modules (map editors, online services, specialized desktop applications), each of which is optimized for a specific job or task. That is why they are well suited for working with vector and raster data, as well as for solving monitoring tasks, but this is rather professional software. Geoanalitika.Agro is suitable for data analysis since it allows collecting data from various sources (weather stations, satellite images, input data), processing and interpreting them in terms of assessing the intensity of plant vegetation. Exact Farming and Agrosignal are agronomist workstations that allow entering data, keeping field records, building cartograms, and using external data sources that provide opportunities for efficient use of resources and decision making. They can become the most demanded among land users. GIS Agroecologist Online is the only system with a huge database of agrochemical and soil erosion data, which are entered at the point of receipt. The system also allows monitoring agroecological state of agricultural lands, maintaining soil fertility, and generating various reports. Together, this creates the preconditions for the priority use of the GIS Agroecologist Online by industry governing bodies.
