Abstract. The study assessed the biological and economic efficiency of the new two-component herbicide Velocity Power, WDG (22.5 g/kg thiencarbazone-methyl + 11.3 g/kg iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium + 135.0 g/kg antidote mefenpyr-diethyl) in the crops of winter wheat. The work was performed in a stationary field experiment in the Krasnodar Territory in 2016–2017 according to the guidelines for registration tests of herbicides in agriculture. The soil of the experimental site was leached low-humus superthick chernozem. The experimental design provided for the study of the following preparations: Velocity Power, WDG at rates of 0.22 kg/ha, 0.28 kg/ha, and 0.33 kg/ha mixed with the adjuvant BioPower, WSC at a rate of 0.5 L/ha; standard preparations Secator Turbo, OD at a rate of 0.1 L/ha, and Puma Super 100, EC at a rate of 0.75 L/ha; working fluid consumption rate was 200 L/ha. In the control option, no herbicides were used. The crops were treated in the spring in the tillering phase. The infestation of winter wheat crops before treatment averaged 92 pcs/m2. The herbicidal effect of the preparations was assessed by the decrease in the number and weight of weeds, as well as by the change in the grain yield of the culture, in comparison with the control. All types of weeds (Avena fatua, Alopecurus myosuroides, Galium aparine, Papaver rhoeas, and Cerastium arvense) showed high sensitivity to the new preparation. In options with the use of Velocity Power, WDG at the rates of 0.22–0.33 kg/ha, 75–100% herbicidal effect was noted without a negative impact on the crops and a significant increase in the yield of winter wheat grain (7.8–10.2%), in relation to the control. The study results indicate a high biological and economic efficiency of the herbicide Velocity Power, WDG against annual dicotyledonous and cereal weeds in winter wheat crops.
