Abstract. The investigation studied changes in biochemical composition and the level of low molecular weight metabolites in the antioxidant complex of soybean seeds of different ripeness groups under the influence of Septoria glycines Hemmi or Cercospora sojina Hara. The material to analyze the development of the plant response to stress caused by fungal infections was the seeds of eight varieties of soybeans harvested in 2019 in the Amur region. We determined biochemical parameters of the studied seeds such as the content of protein, oil, fatty acids (FA), ascorbic acid (AA), carotene, and malondialdehyde (MDA). The content of protein, oil, and fatty acids was determined by spectroscopy in the near-infrared region; AA was determined by a titrimetric method; MDA and carotene were determined by a photocolorimetric method. Statistical indicators, such as mean, standard deviation, and variation coefficient, were calculated by conventional methods using the Statistica 6.0 software. The concentration of MDA in soybean seeds infected with C. sojina increased on average 3–4 times; the concentration of MDA in soybean seeds infected with S. glycines increased two times in most varieties. The content of AA during infection with fungal diseases decreased on average 1.5 times in almost all the studied varieties; the content of carotene decreased 1.5–2 times. We established an inverse correlation between the level of MDA and non-enzymatic antioxidants. Soybean infestation by pathogens S. glycines or C. sojina did not affect the accumulation of fatty acids, protein and fat in the seeds of the crop.
Keywords: soy (Glycine max); Septoria (Septoria glycines); Cercospora (Cercospora sojina); antioxidants; ascorbic acid; carotene; malonic dialdehyde; higher fatty acids.
