Abstract. New invasive and introduced species of phytophages and entomophages along with native species take an active part in the formation of the entomofauna on the territory of the city of Sochi. The study on the distribution of invasive pests of agricultural and ornamental crops in the humid subtropical agroclimatic zone was carried out in the Krasnodar Territory. In recent years, representatives of the Pyralidae family have been considered to be the most harmful invasive phytophages. The harmfulness of the box tree moth – Cydalima perspectalis Walker – became an ecological disaster for the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus. To search for effective measures against this pest, the toxicity of modern pesticides was assessed. According to the data, the drugs Decis profi, WDG; Novaktion, WE; Sharpei, ME; Vertimek, EC represented the greatest toxicity to caterpillars. The death from exposure on the first day was 100%. In 2021, in Sochi, an outbreak of a new pest for the region, the cotton leaf roller (Haritalodes basipunctalis Bremer) occurred in Sochi. In that zone, the pest severely damaged plants of the Malvaceae family, lindens, apple trees, and plums. The supposed vector of invasion was moving with traffic flows. When conducting route surveys of agrobiocenoses in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi in August 2021, it was found that the harmfulness of the cotton leaf roller had been higher in the western part. On this territory, complete defoliation was observed on 60% of the examined plants, while in the eastern part only on 20% of the plants. Under the conditions of Sochi, the pest can have up to 3 generations per year, so it is necessary to carry out a thorough work to study it.
