Anti-dicotyledonous herbicide Flex, AS for the protection of soybean crops in the Krasnodar Territory

Abstract. The study aimed to examine the biological and economic efficiency of the new herbicide Flex, AS (250 g/L fomesafen) in Bara soybean crops was carried out in 2017–2018 in the Krasnodar Territory. Field experiments were set up according to the recommendations for herbicide testing in agriculture. The topsoil of the experimental field was leached chernozem. The area of ​​the plot was 25 m2, the experiment was repeated four times, the distribution of the variants was randomised. The experiment design involved the use of the preparation at rates of 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 L/ha, the standard was Bazagran, AS at rates of 1.5 and 3.0 L/ha, the control was without herbicides. The crop cultivation was carried out in the phase of 2-3 trifoliate soybean leaves. The initial infestation of crop phytocenoses averaged 60 pcs/m2. The effectiveness of the preparations was evaluated by reducing the number and weight of the weeds, as well as changing the yield of the crop seeds, compared to the control. All types of weeds presented in the crops (Chenopodium album, Amaranthus retroflexus, Xanthium strumarium, Ambrosia artemisiifolia) showed high sensitivity to the preparation. In the variants with herbicide Flex, AS use at the rate of 1.2–1.8 L/ha, 80–100% herbicidal effect was noted without a negative effect on the crop and a significant increase in soybean seed yield of 62.7–75.2%, in comparison with the control. The results reveal the high biological and economic efficiency of the Flex, AS herbicide in protecting soybean crops from dicotyledonous weeds.
