Abstract. Cotton is a significant crop in the Lower Volga region. Its sown areas are increasing every year, which causes a need for high-quality seeds. The research aimed to determine the effect of foliar application with complex fertilizers and topping on the seed productivity of cotton of different varieties. The work was carried out in 2017-2019 under the conditions of the Volgograd region on cotton plants of the varieties Giza 86, PGSSH 1, S-8196 and Tashkent-3. The soil of the experimental plot was light-chestnut. The experimental design with fertilizers provided for the feeding of plants with Terrasol Lux fertilizers (N17P17K17Mg1 + 6 trace elements (6TE)) at a dose of 1.0 kg/ha, Novalon Foliar (N9P12K40Mg0.5+5 trace elements (TE)) – 1.0 l/ha, Master (N15P5K30Mg2) – 1.0 kg/ha. The experimental design to determine the efficiency of top removal method included variants without this technological operation (control), with single topping and with double topping. The first topping was carried out in the budding stage, the second in the flowering period. To increase the seed productivity of cotton, it is advisable to carry out double top removal and apply foliar application with complex fertilizers, which include macro- and microelements. Out of the three formulations tested, N9P12K40Mg0.5+TE (low nitrogen, high potassium) provided the best results in field trials. This fertilizer had a positive effect on the set, the number of fruits, the yield of cotton and seed productivity, as well as contributed to a decrease in the disease distribution. Such regularities were revealed in all tested varieties, but the greatest effect was observed in the early ripening variety PGSSH 1. Seed productivity of this cotton variety after foliar application 9P12K40Mg0.5+TE averaged 0.82 t/ha.
