Abstract. The research aimed to develop an information system module that allows for the registration and identification of animals, including using methods of FRID and designing a system for protecting information from actual threats to its security. The work was carried out at livestock facilities in the Stavropol Territory. The animal identification and tracing module of the AVIS automated information system was based on free software. Data entry was carried out at geographically distributed objects using web browsers, information was transmitted via Internet communication channels. Mail.ru Cloud Solutions of Mail.Ru LLC, deployed on the basis of the DataPro Moscow I data processing centre of DATAPRO LLC, was used as a cloud platform for managing server equipment. Animal identification was carried out by setting visual identification ear numbers, as well as radio frequency identification methods by implanting a subcutaneous microchip. The developed software has found wide application in the work of the state veterinary service of the Stavropol Territory. To date, the database includes 827.1 thousand heads of ruminants and 209.6 thousand heads of cattle, including 7.5 thousand heads identified using radio frequency technologies located at 23.2 thousand livestock facilities in the Stavropol Territory. Working with the software allows to perform the following tasks: to carry out accounting and tracing of animals based on visual methods, as well as methods of radio frequency identification; carry out the movement of animals between livestock points and owners; generate reports on movement, entry, disposal, etc. The use of the animal identification module makes it possible to increase the speed of data processing, to improve the quality of information, its suitability for analytical processing, and to strengthen control over the movement of animals, which creates the prerequisites for the digital transformation of the management of the state veterinary service of the Stavropol Territory.
