Abstract. The research aimed to create a new microbial biological agent with magnesium nanoparticles and to test it in a laboratory experiment on the seeds of fibre flax of the Tverskoy variety. Magnesium nanoparticles were obtained by biosynthesis using green tea by varying magnesium salts (MgSO4·7H2O, MgCl2·6H2O, Mg(CH3COO)2·4H2O), their concentrations (0.1, 0.5 and 1.0 mol/l) and volume ratio of salt solution and green tea extract (1:1, 1:2, 1:4, 2:1). The control was treated with distilled water. The mixture of 1.0 M solution of magnesium acetate and tea extract in a ratio of 1:4 turned out to be optimal, which was used to manufacture a liquid-phase biological agent (LPB) LPB-Mg by mixing a solution of nanoparticles with ready-made LPB in a ratio of 1:50. The addition of magnesium nanoparticles increased the number of agronomically useful nitrogen-transforming microorganisms in LPB-Mg, compared to the original LPB, by 1.6 times. A positive effect of LPB-Mg on the average length of one seedling was observed when using a biological product during watering and inoculation. When LPB-Mg was irrigated, the longest seedling length (14.3±0.9 cm) was recorded in the variant with the biological agent concentration of 0.1%; when using the initial LPB, it was maximum in the variant with a concentration of 0.6%. The largest average length of one seedling during inoculation of seeds with biological means of LPB-Mg and LPB was 14.5±1.4 and 14.7±0.8 cm, respectively. At the same time, the concentration of LPB-Mg was 2.3 times less than that of LPB. For germination and the average weight of one seedling, watering the seeds is more preferable, since when using it, these parameters were 2-10% higher than in the variant with inoculation.
