Abstract. The research aimed to assess the responsiveness of various varieties of winter wheat to increasing doses of mineral fertilizers and to determine the optimal doses of fertilizers that pay off with an increase in yield for each variety. The work was carried out in 2019-2021 in the Kursk region. The experimental design included the following variants: varieties of winter wheat – Lgovskaya 4, Moskovskaya 39, Alekseich, Bezostaya 100, Grom, Timiryazevka 150, Soberbash, Ermak, Donera, Donmira, Bogema; doses of mineral fertilizers – without fertilizers (control), N30P30K30, N60P60K60, N90P90K90, N120P120K120. With all the studied doses of mineral fertilizers, the most productive varieties were Alekseich (5.66-7.74 t/ha), Timiryazevka 150 (5.37-7.24 t/ha) and Bogema (5.92-7.23 t/ha). The varieties Bezostaya 100 and Grom at all doses were at the level of the standard Lgovskaya 4 (5.39-6.79 t/ha). The lowest productivity was observed in the Moskovskaya 39 variety (4.39-5.65 t/ha). The highest quality grain in terms of gluten content, regardless of the dose of fertilizers, was formed by variety Moskovskaya 39 (28.5-30.3%). In varieties Lgovskaya 4 and Grom, the highest content of gluten in the grain was observed at a dose of N60P60K60 fertilizers (28.1 and 28.0%). For varieties Alekseich, Bezostaya 100, Timiryazevka 150, Soberbash, Ermak, Donera, Donmira and Bogema, the dose of fertilizers that provided the highest amount of gluten in the grain (27.3-29.1%) was N90P90K90. The highest profit from the increase in grain yield obtained by applying mineral fertilizers for varieties Donera (6187 rubles), Donmira (4037 roubles) and Bogem (3437 roubles) was provided by the dose of N30P30K30; for varieties Lgovskaya 4, Moskovskaya 39, Grom and Yermak (6475, 3875, 6875 and 3275 roubles, respectively) – N60P60K60; Timiryazevka 150 (12912 roubles) – N90P90K90, Alekseich (9850 rubbles) and Soberbash (14750 roubles) – N120P120K120.
